DO YOU THINK BASIC PROGRAMMING CAN ACHIEVE A LOT THESE DAYS ? (IN TERMS OF OPERATING SYSTEMS/GRAPHIC/MEMORY/SIZE/SPEED/INPUT & OUTPUT DEVICES)

VB => True Machine Code, Good Graphics, Memory not a problem, Size depends on prog program.
BASIC games are great because you can learn from them, they take up VERY little memory, and they are fun to play/make.
BASIC can do it all, but C would be the language to do it on
It's my impression that to do "industrial strength" things you need Visual BASIC. But I am constantly discovering that QB and QuickBASIC can do much more than I thought.
Not much, but its quite interesting to program in basic and overcome its limitations that no one has done before
Not as good as other programming programs, but it is good. I use it only because of it's ease.
No it is a small programming language for small games and applications
Anything is possible, C++ is faster but all of the things you can do in C++ you can do in BASIC
I personnaly think BASIC is more fun because it is easier and takes less time to write than C
Yes, but it lacks speed, but it is easy to use for small things
                                                                        More or less...
Well, not so much but it's a pretty good programming language and VB can be used by pro's too
Yes I do.. It's the easiest and doesn't take up a lot of memory.
Definietly, Some of the things you can do with BASIC is just incredible. It's easier than other languages and you don't need any expensive compiler
Possible for TEXT operations but not as good as C, Assembler etc
It depends - ASIC can be limited but is powerful in some aspects.
It's a great way to introduce programming and then take students into Visual Basic without having to teach the keywords.
Sure, I thought it was for text programs only, but I have discovered it's power gradually.
                                                                              No
Yes it is a very efficient language.
It is a good language in the structural sense, but lacks much in the graphical areas of programming.
You can still use it to do many things. It is good for beginners because of the easy commands. I don't think it would be used to write an OS though.
                                                                          Not really.
                                                                              No
                                                                              Yes
